Developing litigation strategy for LGL

Project “Developing litigation strategy for LGL”

“Developing litigation strategy for LGL” is a six month (July – December 2012) project supported by a grant from the Open Society Foundations and ILGA-Europe.

The main objective of the project is to develop a national long-term litigation strategy on LGBTI issues for LGL, raising the organisation’s awareness of its potential and capacity and enhancing its know-how and practical skills of its members.

Activities of this 6-month project will include expert analysis and development of a litigation strategy for LGL. It will be followed by a workshop in November 2012 for LGL representatives, lawyers and experts from human rights NGOs for reviewing this national litigation strategy with the aim to better adjust it to LGL’s capacity, legal and political situation in Lithuania. The workshop will also aim to equip the participants with sufficient practical knowledge on strategic litigation.

According to the recommendations from the workshop, a litigation strategy will be finalized and submitted for inclusion into LGL’s general strategic plan.
