The project “Pride House: Human Rights Education for Young People by Young People” seeks to establish a welcoming and diverse environment for individuals in the LGBTIQ community to come together to socialize and grow positively in a safe setting that fosters connection and learning among peers, rather than relying on traditional methods of education or advocacy alone.
Pride House will take place on 2-8 June 2025 under the framework of the Baltic Pride 2025 festival. LGL, together with experts from Tolerant Youth Association, will facilitate 10 workshops lead by LGBTIQ young people and tailored to the needs of their peers. The workshops will tackle issues such as LGBTIQ rights, combating discrimination, mental health and mental well-being, exercising the right to assemble and more.
Participants in the Pride House project will experience an advanced level of personal, interpersonal, and educational
growth, and gain useful practical skills, including advocacy, leadership and self-empowerment skills. The local community will also be subject to change towards an improved sense of inclusivity, understanding, and acceptance of LGBTIQ people and their rights. The project has the potential to dispel stereotypes and stigma by promoting frank discussion regarding LGBTIQ issues, gender equality, and intersectionality.
