The project “LT Pride: Enacting LGBT Human Rights” aims to mainstream LGBT human rights via the platform of LT Pride festival in Vilnius while celebrating EU values: human dignity, freedom, democracy, equality and human rights.
LT Pride festival will provide a platform to address the most pressing issues for Lithuanian society and foster international collaboration, providing space to express support to the Ukrainian community that found refuge in Lithuania and exploring Lithuania’s role in the global LGBT human rights community by mainstreaming collaboration at the Equal Rights Coalition (ERC) and Germany’s Presidency at the ERC.
The project’s activities firstly include the LT Pride festival in Vilnius, with a dedicated website launch, a promotional campaign on social media and LRT – the Lithuanian national television, a professional recording of festival highlights, and festival merchandise. Secondly, the LT Pride Concert will be organized and will include a tribute to the Ukrainian LGBT community, the Rainbow Award ceremony, during which persons, organizations or initiatives that contributed to LGBT human rights advancement in Lithuania will be celebrated, and celebration of ERC with a welcome speech and slideshows about the ERC. Finally, LGBT human rights advocacy measures will be implemented, including an online seminar on international cooperation at the ERC and at least 5 newsletters sent out by LGL to international subscribers that will present the latest LGBT human rights developments in Lithuania and LT Pride festival news.
The project will ensure the continuous annual nature of the main LGBT human rights event in Lithuania – LGBT pride – and contribute to acceptance of LGBT community within Lithuanian society.
