“Combating discrimination in employment” 2002 11 – 2003 09

Period: November 2002 – September 2003

The project aimed at engagement of the beneficiary NGO in informed dialogue with government officials, other NGOs, trade unions, employers and lawyers on proper and full implementation of the Employment Directive at the national level with regard to sexual orientation discrimination. Raising popular awareness and acceptance in the area of acquis communitaire adoption in employment protection for lesbian, gay and bisexual (LGB) people were promoted by designing media campaign, national research, production of an educational guide, organising of a two day conference and participation in consultative process of drawing up new legislation with government officials and Ombudsman for Equal Opportunities. Training provided by visiting team from sister NGO COC Netherland and European NGO ILGA-Europe strengthened managerial capacity of the beneficiary.
