ACTIVEAID / Access to Care and Employment for Trans and Intersex Individuals: Creating Conditions for Equality

The ACTIVEAID project, coordinated by Asociación SOMOS LGTB+ de Aragón and implemented together with 8 partner organizations, including LGL, aims to create inclusive access to health care services and employment opportunities for trans and intersex individuals.

This 24-month long project follows a comprehensive approach with six work packages. It begins with a needs assessment involving interviews with key stakeholders to understand the challenges faced. Based on the findings, tailored training programs are developed for health care professionals and employers. Policy dialogue is fostered through round tables and workshops, engaging policymakers, labor market representatives, and health care professionals’ associations to develop inclusive policies. The project raises awareness through videos and infographics, mobilizing local actors for change.

The project’s results include a state-of-the-art report on LGBTQI+ phobia, training programs, guidelines, policy recommendations, and awareness-raising materials. The project has a transnational dimension, partnering with organizations from Spain, Greece, Ireland, and Cyprus, with potential impact across EU countries.
