The project “Transcending Barriers: Promoting Trans Inclusion in the Workplace”, coordinated by the University of Brescia and implemented together with 7 partner organizations including LGL, aims to fight discrimination and inequality experienced by transgender people in employment.
This 24-month long project targets HR professionals and managers, trans* individuals, and policy-makers. Its activities can be grouped into 1) increasing awareness and improvement of skills of relevant professionals to counter stereotyping, stigmatization, discrimination of transgender people, and 2) improving knowledge and awareness of discrimination and inequality experienced by transgender people in employment, as well as solutions on how to tackle this.
It is expected to achieve enhanced knowledge of HR professionals on the rights of trans* employees and on tools to promote diversity and inclusion at work, and to create tools and activities for trans* people to strengthen assertivity in the field of labor. The beneficiaries of this project will be not only trans* people, but also the LGBTI community as a whole.
