The goal of the Baltic Pride festival, which will return to Vilnius for the sixth time in 2025, is to promote the visibility of the LGBT community, the protection of human rights and cultural diversity. The desired result is to raise public awareness of the situation of LGBT human rights in Lithuania, foster the culture of the LGBT community and shape the image of Vilnius as an open and tolerant city.
This goal will be achieved by implementing an intensive cultural and educational program and providing the target audience of the project with an environment that promotes community spirit and creative expression. The activities of the festival include the march “For Equality” on Gediminas Avenue, a concert in Vingis Park, “Drag Opera” at the Old Theatre of Vilnius, film screenings at the “Pasaka” cinema, and various activities at the LGBT community creative space “Pride House”.
In June 2026 and 2027, LGL will organize the Lithuanian Pride festival in Vilnius, which was first organized in 2024. The festival provides an opportunity to talk about important LGBT human rights issues more often than once every three years and a platform to show high-level artistry from the LGBT community to Vilnius residents and guests of Vilnius. During the Lithuanian Pride festival, greater attention will be paid to the situation of the LGBT community in Lithuania. In addition to the traditional LGBT community march “For Equality”, it is planned to organize a concert, community events, creative workshops, events showcasing the art of drag, and an international human rights conference.
