From 6 to 8 August, the team of the National LGBT rights organisation LGL participated in WorldPride Amsterdam 2026 events in the Netherlands. During the visit, LGL representatives took part in the International Human Rights Conference, met with representatives of human rights organisations and LGBTIQ+ networks, and strengthened international partnerships.

One of the key highlights of LGL’s participation was the discussion “Strengthening Workplace Inclusion in Europe: Advancing LGBTIQ+ Equality Amid Anti-Gender Backlash”, organised jointly with the European Pride Business Network (EPBN).

The discussion focused on strengthening workplace inclusion for LGBTIQ+ people, ensuring the effective implementation of the European Union’s non-discrimination principles, and the role of civil society and the business sector in responding to the growing anti-rights movements across Europe. The LGL and EPBN cooperation project will build on the knowledge and experience gained during the exchange visit to further strengthen advocacy efforts in Lithuania and at the EU level.

Participation in WorldPride Amsterdam 2026 was an important part of the international exchange of experience, providing LGL with an opportunity to present the Lithuanian context, learn about advocacy practices applied in other European countries, and strengthen links between LGBTIQ+ rights organisations and the business sector.

LGL’s visit to Amsterdam was organised as part of the project “LGL and EPBN Exchange of Experience in Advocacy: Strengthening Workplace Inclusion and Responding to Anti-Gender Backlash”.

The project is funded by the European Union under the “VERTA!” programme implemented by the Open Lithuania Foundation. The “VERTA!” programme is funded under the European Union’s Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values (CERV) programme.
