On 1–2 October 2026, the National LGBT Rights Organisation LGL hosted a partner meeting in Vilnius for the international project “CLICK: Connecting families, educators and policymakers to combat violence and enhance the wellbeing of LGBTIQ children through an intersectional approach.”
During the meeting, project partners shared experiences, discussed ongoing activities and explored further cooperation to prevent violence against LGBTIQ children and improve their wellbeing. The project focuses on creating safe and supportive environments within families, educational institutions and communities.
CLICK aims to bring together families, educators and policymakers to ensure that LGBTIQ children’s needs are better understood and the challenges they face receive an appropriate response. Preventing violence and providing effective support require cooperation across sectors, informed by the experiences of children and their families.
The project’s intersectional approach recognises how different aspects of a child’s identity and life circumstances overlap and may increase their risk of experiencing discrimination or violence. This approach helps partners better understand individual needs and develop solutions that also reach children facing multiple forms of vulnerability.
The partner meeting in Vilnius strengthened cooperation towards a shared goal: creating environments where every child can feel safe, accepted and heard.
The meeting was organised as part of the project “CLICK: Connecting families, educators and policymakers to combat violence and enhance the wellbeing of LGBTIQ children through an intersectional approach,” funded by the European Union’s Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values Programme (CERV-2024-DAPHNE).
