Baltic Pride 2022 Festival Starts on 31st of May in Vilnius

The National LGBT rights organization LGL informs about the most important events of the Baltic Pride 2022 festival, which will take place in Vilnius from 31st of May to 5th of June.

On 31st of May, the Baltic Pride 2022 festival will be opened during a colorful Rainbow Bus trip in Vilnius. Representatives of the LGBT community on the colorful music bus will visit the sponsors and friends of the Baltic Pride 2022 festival, spread a positive atmosphere, and invite Vilnius residents and guests to participate at the Baltic Pride.

Pride House, Pride Art and Baltic Pride 2022 Information Center will be open from 31st of May to 5th of June at Kablys + Kultūra. Pride House is an open space for community events, where visitors will find creative workshops, discussions, exhibitions and other cultural and educational activities.

On 2nd of June from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM Kablys + Kultūra will host a theatrical event Pride Voices with the participation of music performer Jazzu, Minister of Economy and Innovation Aušrinė Armonaitė, performer Lolita Zero, guest from Canada Colin Ratushniak. The event will be hosted by Agnė Grigaliūnienė. Thespeakers will share open, sincere, and community-friendly stories about coming out, fighting for equal rights, victories, and challenges. On 3rd of June from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM an international conference “Proud Cities Summit” will be held at Vilnius City Hall, organized in cooperation with the Lithuanian Diversity Charter. Conference participants will discuss global trends in diversity and inclusion and aspects of their practical application. On 4th of June from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM the main event of the Baltic Pride 2022 festival is waiting for Vilnius residents and guests of the city – the March “For Equality and Peace” on Gediminas Avenue. The march route will run from the Bernardine Gardens to the White Bridge.

“We are on the side of freedom, democracy, fundamental human rights and equal opportunities. We believe that the Baltic Pride 2022 March for Equality and Peace and other festival events will bring together many people who are not indifferent to these values and will become a phenomenon that unites and unifies our society”, commented Vladimir Simonko, Executive Director of LGL.

On 4th of June from 6:00 PM to 10 PM, immediately after the March for Equality and Peace, an exclusive concert Proud Cities at the White Bridge, organized in cooperation with the music festival M.A.M.A, will invite all Vilnius residents and guests. The concert will feature performers Donatas Montvydas and Dominykas Vaitiekūnas, as well as drag performers LaDiva Live (Belgium), Catherine d’Oex (Switzerland) and Leona Winter (France).
