The Winners Received the National Equality and Diversity Awards

On the 26th of April, 2022 the National Equality and Diversity Awards were presented at a solemn ceremony at the National Museum – Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania. The most important human rights awards in Lithuania are given for merits in the fields of gender equality, dialogue between nations, LGBTI+ equality, age, disability, religions and beliefs, the breakthrough of the year and respect for human beings. Due to the pandemic last year, the event did not take place, so this year individuals, organizations and initiatives were honored for the merits of the past two years.

The winners received statuettes created by the artist Ieva Paltanavičiūtė and prizes established by the general sponsor Swedbank.

The winners of the National Equality and Diversity Awards, organized by the Office of the Equal Opportunities Ombudsperson together with the National LGBT rights organization LGL, the Lithuanian Disability Organizations Forum and the Women’s Information Center, are selected by combining the votes of the public and the expert commission.
