LGBT* Community Centre Full of Opportunities in the European Union

On 10th August, 2017 LGBT* Community Centre of the National LGBT* rights organization LGL hosted an event “Come and Choose Your Future”. Ieva Galkytė, the Spacialist of the European Information Centre, joined us with a workshop-presentation about the European Union opportunities for young people. This community event brought people together not only from Lithuania but also from Italy, Slovakia, United States of America, Belarus and France.

Our guest Ieva has presented the participants of the event with a variety of ERASMUS+ projects. The European Union provides many opportunities to volunteer, work, travel, to do an internship or traineeship, to attend particular events in the EU countries and elsewhere.

Giordano and Tatiana (LGL’s European Voluntary Service (EVS) volunteers) shared their experience about their program. It was important and useful to share, to inspire and encourage others to participate in one or another EU project. Giordano recalled that after he had graduated at the university, he felt like his studies were not enough for him, he wanted to test himself, to be in a different environment and to see what he is good at. ERASMUS+ projects are a great idea if you want to take a gap year, to have experience in a multicultural environment, develop personally.

The National LGBT* rights organization LGL supports the mobility of young people and is ready to assist you if you wish to become an EVS volunteer. If you are interested in this opportunity, please do not hesitate to write us an email at volunteers@gay.lt.
