LGL Publications reach the shelves of Berlin LGBT* Museum Library

A collection of the most important publications of the national LGBT* rights association LGL have reached the library shelves of one of the largest LGBT*-themed museums in the world, the Schwule Museum, Berlin. Since its founding in 1985, the museum has grown into one of the world‘s most significant institutions for archiving, researching and communicating the history and culture of the LGBT* community. From now on, museum visitors from around the world will have the opportunity to get acquainted with Lithuanian LGBT* community history.

On November 27, 2014, the day of the „Rainbow Philanthropy” conference in Berlin, LGL formed a partnership with the museum. During the conference, Jens Doble, the head of the museum library, personally presented the museum’s mission to chronicle the LGBT* movement for future generations.

LGL in turn donated a collection of the most important publications to the museum library. On the 9th of January, 2015 LGL received a letter of thanks from Jens Doble, in which he assures that LGL publications are positioned in one of the most attractive areas of the museum library.

Since its establishment in 1993, the national LGBT* rights association LGL accumulated an extensive array of LGBT* literature. It stands as the largest LGBT* themed library in Lithuania today. LGL professionals have published more than 50 publications on the specific situation of LGBT* people in Lithuania.
