On 6 June, 2026 18,000 people gathered at the March for Equality in Vilnius to remind society of a simple yet still urgent truth: every family in Lithuania deserves equal dignity, respect and protection.
As part of Lithuanian Pride 2026 festival, participants came together not only to celebrate diversity and community, but also to call for a Lithuania where no family is left behind. While families in Lithuania take many different forms, some continue to face unequal treatment and a lack of legal recognition and protection.
The march became a powerful demonstration of solidarity, visibility and hope, bringing together LGBTQ+ people, allies, families, civil society organisations and supporters from Lithuania and abroad. Together, participants sent a clear message that equality, inclusion and human dignity must be guaranteed for everyone.
The National LGBT rights organisation LGL sincerely thanks everyone who took part in the march. Your presence, support and courage help drive positive change and build a society where all families can live openly, safely and with equal rights.
