On 31 May, 2022 Baltic Pride 2022 Pride House and Pride Art was opened in Kablys + Kultūra. The opening event of the Pride House was a quiz-battle “Faces of Diversity”, led by Paulius Ambrazevicius.
The Pride House was decorated with various art exhibitions. Each of them is colorful, each of them is authentic and communicates the message of LGBT equality.
On June 1 Pride House held a workshop “Queer Art History and Perspectives in Lithuania”, curated by Laima Kreivytė, an art critic and a lecturer at the Vilnius Academy of Arts.
The portrayal of Queer and LGBT in the media in Lithuania is insufficient and this leads to taboos and various stigmas. Creativity, body and life have no boundaries, they are one and the same alloy and one of the most important means of expressing identity.
Take a close look at Pride Art from May 31 to June 5: Milda Vyšniauskaitė’s photography cycle “Boys”; Seductive people-paintings by Dalia Juodakytė; Olia Grinko series of five illustrations LGBTA.

Pride House and Pride Art provided a space for cultural engagement for members of the local LGBT community and human rights activists. Seeking to celebrate diversity of the entire LGBT community, it included workshops, discussions, cultural events, concerts, brunch and also served as the info point/center for all the BP week events. Pride House and Pride Art were organized at KABLYS.
The opening ceremony started with P. Ambrazevicius’ quiz-battle “Faces of Diversity”, leading with various lectures and discussions about the queer world in Lithuania and the involvement of LGBT people in academic life. There were creative workshops of making your own Baltic Pride attributes, even an LGBT + choir from Estonia gave us a visit with its musical program. The week of events were wrapped with a delicious Sunday brunch.
In Kablys you could also find the Baltic Pride Info Center, where you could grab a free glossy Baltic Pride Guide magazine and get information about all the Baltic Pride festival events.
