From 6th to 9th July, 2017 the LGBT+ culture festival Baltic Pride will take place in Tallinn (Estonia). The theme of this year’s festival is “United.” In Estonian, it is not just an allusion to the partnership law. It also signifies being united in spirit and action, in growing and in aging together.
The Baltic Pride festival program includes films from South Caucasus to Nordic countries, a creative writing workshop, a picnic for families with LGBT+ parents, exhibitions, parties, and for the first time a tour that presents the city of Tallinn from the perspective of local LGBT+ history.
The highlight of the festival is the open air concert following the Pride march, which aims to empower the LGBT+ community and show its diversity, but also to recall the lack of LGBT+ rights in recent history. Additionally, the international conference will focus on the past, present, and future of Pride, the co-operation between LGBT+ communities and its straight allies in creating a better life for society as a whole, discussions about legislation in Estonia and its influence on same-sex families, and many other interesting topics.
All are welcome to join the festival, regardless of sexual and gender identity!
