On 17 May 2013 the Lithuanian Gay League (LGL) will officially launch Baltic Pride 2013 promotional videos. The main purpose of these videos is not only to invite everyone to the Baltic Pride 2013 events this July, but also to speak about broader ideas of tolerance and diversity in the Lithuanian society through lively means of communication. You have a unique opportunity to be the first to have a look at the Baltic Pride 2013 promotional videos.

The production of the Baltic Pride 2013 promotional videos was kindly supported by the French Embassy in Lithuania and the French Cultural Institute. According to the French director behind the videos, i.e. Mr. François Message, these videos seek to raise awareness about LGBT people in Lithuania and the importance of public visibility in campaigning for civil and political rights.

The first video is dedicated exclusively for the Baltic Pride 2013 March for Equality on 27 July 2013. 13 members of the Lithuanian LGBT* community, their supporters and friends have voiced their motivation, why Baltic Pride 2013 March for Equality is crucially needed under Lithuanian circumstances. The second video captures the diversity of the Lithuanian society by depicting 5 social groups (i.e. people with disabilities, elderly people, immigrants, representatives of alternative cultures and same-sex couples) and indicating that they are integral part of the society. The main message in the video is that diversity is of a benefit and not of a disadvantage to the society. You can see the second video (with English subtitles) here:

The LGL will seek to broadcast these videos on the Lithuanian national television (LRT) two weeks prior to the Baltic Pride 2013 events in July. In order to show your support for Baltic Pride 2013, we kindly ask you to share these videos via your communication channels (e.g. FaceBook, Twitter, etc.) on the International Day against Homophobia and Transphobia, i.e. on 17 May 2013.
