Tolerance is different for national minorities, for the disabled, and for those with a different sexual orientation. A lot depends on their own behavior. Jews, for example, are demanding for the return of the property, but they engage in constructive discussions.

Representatives of Polish nation since they want to write their first and last names in the native language, also join discussions. However, neither of the two, wave flags or organize parades to defend their values. Neither do the disabled organize parades even though they also have needs. Conversations  and search for solutions are in process, neither of which raises the anger of the society or politicians.

Defense of nationhood or rights does not instigate hostility in people’s thoughts. They only seek that, which is taught from childhood or that can make the everyday better.

The representatives of sexual minorities are behaving oppositely, even though not everyone on their side views the public gay parade in Vilnius, Lithuania, with tolerance.

If there were conversations about the position of homosexuals in Lithuania, it is possible that people would not evaluate their choice so sharply. An attitude that homosexuality is chosen, sometimes even from idleness is present in Lithuania. The parade is antagonizing the society. Traditionally oriented people are being provoked by the parade; they will have to see things that they may not wish to see. This is a lack of tolerance from the sexual minorities with respect to other people.

We live in a fee country, so there is freedom of opinion to say what one likes or dislikes. It is not surprising that there are a lot of opinions. Personally, I am against the goal of sexual minorities to express their orientation through a public parade. Firstly, they should decide amongst themselves, if they all want it. To my knowledge there are many amongst the sexual minorities who are against such a step.
