This week the Lithuanian Gay League (LGL) was accepted as a participant in the Fundamental Rights Platform (FRP). This is a network for cooperation between the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) and civil society organizations. Taking part in this platform implies that the LGL will be able to get first-hand information on FRA’s work, take part on its projects and have an active role on the Agency’s Annual Work Programme and Annual Report.
The Fundamental Rights Agency (FRA) recognizes and values the important role of civil society organizations are playing across the EU. Joining the FRP allows civil society organizations to have a say on the Agency’s activities and thereby contribute to fundamental rights policies at the EU level. Moreover, annual meetings, conferences and thematic seminars create a unique opportunity forum for cross-cutting discussions and good practice exchange.
Over 300 of NGOs, social partners, associations, academic institutions and other organizations from across the EU are now part of this channel, and the LGL is glad to have an opportunity to cooperate with them and work closely with the Fundamental Rights Agency.
