The organizer of the Baltic Pride 2022 festival, National LGBT rights organization LGL announced the slogan for the Baltic Pride March: for Equality and Peace. The March for Equality and Peace will take place on the 4th of June, 2022 in Vilnius.
“This year, with the events of the Baltic Pride 2022 festival, we will strive not only for the equality of LGBTI people, but also for peace and freedom. These values are in the identity of every citizen of Lithuania, other Baltic countries, and the whole democratic world, so the Baltic Pride 2022 festival will invite our community and society to come together and unite to achieve these common goals. Together, we are a powerful force that can mobilize, help, and support each other and finally reject homophobia that has its roots in the East”, explained the organizers of the festival.
“We are on the side of freedom, democracy, fundamental human rights and equal opportunities. We believe that the Baltic Pride 2022 March for Equality and Peace and other festival events will bring together many people who are not indifferent to these values and will become a phenomenon that unites and unifies our society”, commented Vladimir Simonko, Executive Director of LGL.
Baltic Pride 2022 is an international LGBT festival uniting the three Baltic countries, returning to Vilnius for the fifth time. The festival will take place from 1st to 5th of June. The program will include highlights such as: the international human rights conference Proud Cities Summit, an exclusive cultural evening “Pride Voices”, the open community space “Pride Art” and “Pride House”, official parties and, of course, the March for Equality and an exclusive concert where we will not only celebrate equality and solidarity, but also demand equal rights for the members of the LGBT community.
