On June 19-23, 2019 Miglė Šarakauskaitė, Project Manager at National LGBT rights organization LGL, participated in Oslo Pride International Programme, organized by Oslo Pride, Norwegian Helsinki Committee, Amnesty International Norway and FRI (Norwegian Organization for Sexual and Gender Diversity).
Oslo Pride International Programme is organized annually since 2016. The aim is to highlight challenges, as well as progress made with regards to LGBTI rights. Participants are encouraged to come up with joint strategies, and ways in which they can support each other.
This year the programme included twenty LGBTI human rights defenders from sixteen different Central, Eastern and Southern European countries. During the four days in Oslo, participants had a chance to exchange experiences and strengthen their advocacy through workshops, meetings with organizations, institutions and political representatives.
