Book Club

Winter is the best time for spending evenings in some cozy place with a good book and hot tea. That`s why we are coming to you with an idea of Book Club – that means meeting where we will discuss some small piece of literature we choose and read before on some interesting topic. Initial focus of Book Club is on connection between feminism, gender studies and LGBT* issues, but we would like to open it for the different topics that you are interested in.

Second session of book club will look at your proposition – to read something about connection of feminism and vegetarianism from the book “Sexual Politics of Meat: A Feminist-Vegetarian Critical Theory” written by Carol J. Adams. This book explores a relationship between patriarchal values and meat eating by interweaving the insights of feminism, vegetarianism, animal defense, and literary theory. If you are interested in topic, let`s dive into the pages, think about the ideas to discuss and come to LGL`s community center on Tuesday!
