This T-shirt was at the center of several polemics. It was created for the Baltic Pride of 2013 and in the same occasion, it was worn by one of our staff members during the shooting of a promotional video. Because of that t-shirt, Experts of the Lithuanian Office of the Inspector of Journalism Ethics considered that promotional video as potentially harmful to minors. Consequently it was expected to be aired late at night only, in accordance with the contents of the Law on the Protection of Minors Against the Detrimental Effect of Public Information. Experts add that the video, featuring people who specify their sexual orientation and invite viewers to take part in the LGBT pride march, promote a different concept of family and marriage than stipulated by the law. As the founder and board chair of LGL, suggested “the decision created a dangerous precedent that could limit information on LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transsexual) people“. LGL is currently challenging this decision by pursuing legal actions.
