Rainbow Days will begin in Lithuania on May 14th and will be celebrated in Vilnius, Kaunas and Klaipėda.

TUESDAY, MAY 12TH
LGBT* Myth Busters Workshop

Where? Vilnius University Faculty of Medicine, Room 224 (Čiurlionio g. 21/27, Vilnius)
What does it mean to be LGBT*? Does this community require “special rights”? What types of problems does this social group encounter on a daily basis? Get answers to all of these questions at the 90 minute LGBT* Myth Busters workshop! Staff members and volunteers from the national LGBT* rights organization LGL will be participating. The event is open to all!
THURSDAY, MAY 14TH
“Cheer Queer”: Rainbow Days 2015 Opening Event

Where? One Two Bar (A. Stulginskio g. 2, Vilnius)
Discussion about the importance of LGBT* allyship (comedians Oleg Šurajev and Paulius Ambrazevičius, politician Aušrinė Armonaitė, and photographer Neringa Rekašiūtė will be participating).

Presentation of the “Change it” Petition to the Lithuanian President

Vladimir Simonko, the Executive Director of LGL, and Elena Dapkūnaitė, LGL’s Chairperson of the Board, will present the signatures from the social campaign “Change It” to the President of the Republic of Lithuania.
Outdoor Film Screening of “Heavy Girls” in the VU Courtyard

Where? Vilnius University Courtyard (Universiteto g. 3, Vilnius)
Vilnius University is opening up one of its courtyards to the LGBT* community and its student allies. The joyful and stereotype-shattering German comedy “Heavy Girls” (Dick Mädchen 2012, dir. A. Ranisch) will be screened in the spacious Adomas Mickevičius courtyard.
To brighten up your viewing experience, snacks and soft drinks will be served. If it rains during this warm, spring day, we will move to one of the university classrooms.
You are warmly invited to the screening by the Vilnius University Student Representative Program “Be etikečių,” the Vilnius LGBT* festival “Kreivės,” the Tolerant Youth Association, and the Goethe Institute in Lithuania.

Rainbow Days 2015 Bus

Where? Vilnius City Centre
LGL will drive its rainbow bus through the streets of Vilnius. This time, we will unfurl the longest rainbow flag in the country in an unexpected location in the capital. Positive energy and a good time are guaranteed!

The party will commemorate the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia (IDAHOT). We’ll be celebrating love and tolerance! Love is louder!
SUNDAY, MAY 17TH
Event for the Transgender Community—“Trans* Pizza”

Where? LGBT* Centre (A. Jakšto g. 22-15, Vilnius)
The event seeks to promote the discussion of the expectations and needs of the trans* community with respect to the changing political and legal landscape. At the “TRANS* Pizza” event, we will build a virtual bridge with trans* individuals living abroad.
Be heard—LGBTQI tribune at Lukiškės
When? 14:00
Where? Lukiškių Aikštė (on the corner of Gedimino pr. and Vasario 16-osios g.)
Want to sing, make a speech, put on a play or otherwise express your joy, sadness, hopes or disappointments regarding the changing situation for LGBTQ people in Lithuania? Or perhaps hear about what others are feeling and thinking? Come to Lukiškės Square to hear others and be heard. Neringa Dangvydė, Aušra Kaziliūnaitė and many others will be participating.
The Tolerant Youth Association is organizing the event.

The film “Loose Cannons” (ital. “Mine Veganti”) is a witty, ironic, and somewhat dramatic film about daily LGBT* life under the scorching Italian sun. The Embassy of Italy and the Italian Cultural Institute generously gifted the film for viewing. The film screening is free, but you’ll have to make sure you get your ticket at the box office in time!

After the film, there will be a discussion about the representation of the LGBT* community in the media.
