U.S. Ambassador to Lithuania Robert S. Gilchrist invites to participate at the Baltic Pride 2022 in Vilnius, taking place on 1-5 June.
“I am so delighted that this year Lithuania is hosting the Baltic Pride 2022. I think it’s more important now than ever. We see what’s happening in this neighborhood. In Russia and in Belarus LGBT activists, LGBT people are under threat. Many have left, many have gone to hiding, many feel threatened every day”, says U.S. Ambassador.
“And I think now it’s more important than ever that we celebrate together, that we march together with our families, with our friends, with us as LGBTQI+ people, and that we demonstrate to the region, to the entire world that Lithuania is a tolerant place. Lithuanians embrace family, embrace their friends, the world is moving forward”, claims Robert S. Gilchrist.
“So, I look forward to seeing a lot of you in the streets, at celebrations, at many events. We’ll be there with many members of my embassy community and I will proudly be there as well”, insists Ambassador.
Baltic Pride 2022 is an international LGBT festival uniting the three Baltic countries, returning to Vilnius for the fifth time. The festival will take place from 1st to 5th of June. The program will include highlights such as: the international human rights conference Proud Cities Summit, an exclusive cultural evening “Pride Voices”, the open community space “Pride Art” and “Pride House”, official parties and, of course, the March for Equality and an exclusive concert where we will not only celebrate equality and solidarity, but also demand equal rights for the members of the LGBT community.
See you in Baltic Pride Vilnius 2022!
