Already five months have passed since I arrived in Lithuania, time just flies by.
So the time for my mid term has come. This time instead of 19 people and 4 days of training, we were just eight volunteers so we did a shorter training in 3 days, but it was still amazing. We were in Trakai again but in a different hotel than last time.
I thought that being fewer people, it would have been somewhat boring but it was not at all.
The first day we started with some talking to introduce ourselves, and then with did our first challenge consisted of the game of rope jumping, but it was not simple as it seemed. There were different levels to overcome, every time harder, until the “boss level”. We spent around one hour for this challenge but at the end when we were starting to lose hope, we finished the game and reached the Boss level all together, which this gave us a lot of positive energy.
The first evening was very special; we went out together with our trainer too, to the city center. We walked until we reached the main lake. Once there we decided to rent a boat to make a short trip around the lake and the castle during the sunset. It was so fun and relaxing at the same time. After the boat’s trip few of us decided to have a swim in the lake, and it was magical for me because it was exactly what I needed at that time.
During the rest of the days, we did many different activities and had many discussions between us and comparing our experiences. The most interesting was to draw with a rope how we saw our life and project in Lithuania since we arrived here. Everybody had a different experience and prospective but at the same time we found out that we have many other things and feelings in common. It was an interesting (and more emotional that we expected) activity to share our thoughts with the group and receive many suggestions and help from the other participants.
The last day, our last activity we had a “solo time”, in which we had 40 minutes by ourselves to find a place and write about what we learnt from this training and mostly our thoughts and projects ideas for the future. I decided to walk outside the hotel and find a place close to the lake, surrounded by nature, to relax and think clearly.
Another amazing part of this mid term was that the hotel had a beautiful Spa which we could use for two hours per day, so we had a lot of fun and relax time there.
In the end, we had to say goodbye to each other and to our trainer, who was very patient and friendly with each of us. Therefore it was a little bit sad to close this short experience but at the same time we found some new friends and mostly motivation for our future and to make things better.
