LGL YOUTH IS TAKING PART IN TWO INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCES (09-08-2011)

October will be another busy month for LGL youth which will participate in two conferences. The first one will be held by the Association of Nordic and Pol-Balt LGBTQ Student Organisation (ANSO) in Stockholm from 1st to 8th, and the second one will take place in Amsterdam from 8th to 16th hosted by the International LGBTQ Youth and Student Organisation (IGLYO).

The goals of both conferences are making contacts between young activists and sharing experiences as well as reflecting together on several themes.

The ANSO workshop called “Loud and Visible: Queering Up the Media” particularly aims to apply knowledge and techniques through multimedia in order to create an open space rich in information and strategies for international activists. Based on the Tool “10 Tactics: How to Turn Information into Practice”, the work will be also profitable for the participants who will be able to use it in their own countries.

The IGLYO conference, supported by the European Youth Foundation of the Council of Europe and the Dutch Government, focuses on actions towards local, regional and national LGBTQ youth communities. One more time, the participants will work together on using internet technologies as well as understanding how they can identify the needs, take part and benefit from partnerships andmeasure the aftermaths of their actions.

As a consequence, LGL will come back with a larger pallet of ideas, tools and contacts which will bring a lot to LGBTQ youth communities in Lithuania.
