LGBT+ Mental Health Workshop

  • Date: 27 Mar 2018 Time: 18:00 Location: LGBT* Centre Pylimo str. 21, LT-01141 Vilnius

Mental health is instrumental during every stage of life, from childhood, adolescence and through adulthood. It compasses our emotional, psychological and social well-being.

The way of thinking, mood, behaviour and social interaction are some of the areas affected by Mental Health. For LGBTI+ individuals, being mentally and emotionally healthy can sometimes be a difficult mission. Coming out, self-acceptance in a hostile environment, or even seeking appropriate care can be some of the obstacles that LGBTI+ people face.

To tackle these topics, there will be a Mental Health Workshop on March 27th. Grytė Ruzgė, a psychologist with training on LGBT+ matters, stress management, conflict resolution and motivation enhancement, will be conducting the session, which will be held in LGL’s LGBT community centre. Grytė Ruzgė will start off the session by presenting the aforementioned themes, and after that, there will be a discussion where participants can expose their concerns, experiences or clarify existing doubts.

LGL is carrying out the 10-month project “Disappearing Borders: Empowering LGBT Community and Allies In Lithuania” under the Erasmus+ program EVS (European Voluntary Service).
