For this topic, we decided to choose a less controversial approach and explore the possibility of creating bonds that unite the Catholic Church and the LGBT+ community. Instead of reading one particular chapter from a book, we will post various articles and videos for you! Firstly, we would like to introduce you Fr. James Martin SJ (https://www.facebook.com/FrJamesMartin/) and his fascinating book “Building a Bridge: How the Catholic Church and the LGBT Community Can Enter into a Relationship of Respect, Compassion, and Sensitivity” (https://www.amazon.com/Building-Bridge-Relationship-Compassion-Sensitivity/dp/0062694316)! To get a flavour of his ideas, please watch the following video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j_LgIcqe6rY

The rest of the articles and videos will be posted on a weekly basis.

We will be meeting on May 10th in the LGBT centre in a comfortable atmosphere to discuss this topic. The idea of the Book Club is to discuss a particular topic in a cosy atmosphere together with a cup of tea and some good literature. Every three weeks a chapter from a book on a particular topic will be put online to read in advance and then to discuss our thoughts together.

LGL is carrying out the 10-month project “Disappearing Borders: Empowering LGBT Community and Allies In Lithuania” under the Erasmus+ program EVS (European Voluntary Service).
