For first Book Club in New Year we prepared for you some fiction book – even if it is not that fiction since it is a memoir. Its author Jeanette Winterson writes in it about a life’s work to find happiness. “Why be happy when you could be normal?” is the real-life question of author‘s adopted mother, as Winterson is evicted, at 16, for taking up with a second girlfriend (the attempts to exorcise her sexuality after the first having been unsuccessful).

Idea of Book Club is to meet and discuss some piece of literature we choose and read before on some interesting topic. Let‘s meet after Christmas in Paviljonas* and discuss coming out and importance of personal stories in LGBT* advocating and building understanding among people.

*Paviljonas is a cozy bar hidden in the park right opposite to LGL`s office – we will have a space reserved there.

LGL is carrying out the 10-month project “Heading Towards Visibility and Equality” under the Erasmus+ program EVS (European Voluntary Service).
